Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the administration and police officials to take urgent measures to protect Rabi crops from fire incidents. Emphasizing the priority of farmers' interests, he stated, “For us, the welfare of farmers is paramount.”
While presiding over a meeting with officials in Gorakhpur on Saturday afternoon, the Chief Minister stressed the need for swift action in case of a fire. He directed that fires be controlled immediately upon detection and that, in addition to existing fire stations, seasonal fire stations should remain operational around the clock as per regional requirements. “There should be no negligence at any level,” he asserted.
During the meeting held in the hall of Gorakhnath Temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the crop damage caused by fire in the district. He instructed officials to ensure that affected farmers receive compensation promptly, in accordance with government guidelines.
Acknowledging the farmers’ hard work in cultivating crops, the Chief Minister emphasized, “Every possible measure should be taken to protect their crops, as this remains a priority for the government.” He noted that as the wheat crop matures, the risk of fire increases due to rising temperatures and strong winds. “Farmers should be made aware of fire prevention measures, and immediate arrangements must be in place to minimize potential losses,” he added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reviewed the district’s fire prevention measures and emphasized the need for a system that ensures fire brigade teams can respond immediately in case of an emergency.
In response, District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Gaurav Grover informed him that, in addition to the headquarters in Golghar, temporary fire stations are operational in GIDA, Bansgaon, Gola, and Chauri Chaura, all equipped with necessary firefighting tools. Furthermore, seasonal fire stations have been set up in Campierganj, Khajni, Uruwa, Barhalganj, and Gulriya, each equipped with water tenders, water mist systems, and other essential firefighting equipment.
Expressing satisfaction with these arrangements, the Chief Minister instructed the District Magistrate to continuously monitor the procurement process for the farmers’ harvested crops.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reviewed the police and administrative preparations for the Ram Navami festival. He instructed officials to ensure cleanliness in all temples and implement strict security measures, particularly in major temples.

Therefore, arrangements should be made to ensure a smooth experience for all visitors. He emphasized the need for special security and convenience measures for women devotees. Additionally, given the summer season, he directed officials to ensure adequate drinking water facilities for devotees visiting the temples.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects in the district. He emphasized that significant projects, including the Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, are set to be inaugurated with grandeur in the coming days.
